It’s a day late, but I really wanted to use meteorites this week.  My boyfriend bought me these, and I’m thinking of making them into earrings.  I find them fascinating, because we think of them as being so alien, even though this particular “space rock” has been here several thousand years longer than you and me.  Many meteorites burn up in our atmosphere and never reach the ground, but this 8 ton survivor made the long, lonely journey through space before astronomical odds brought it to rest here with us.  I find Meteorite to be tremendously lucky.  Amethyst took the heat and transformed into something new.  Meteorite survived the fire to finally be at rest.  The bigger the challenge, the bigger the impact we can make in the world.
