This it. We’ve reached the final chakra in my Chakra Series. I hope this series serves as the beginning of your personal journey and that the material presented has been useful and beneficial in your life. If you’ve been with me from the beginning, thank you so much for seeing this through to completion. For new readers, I highly encourage you to follow the chakras in order, especially if this particular entry feels a little too spacey “peace love and happiness” group-huggy for you.
Crown Chakra
Sahasrara, the Crown Chakra can be found at the very top of the head. Don’t think of this as the final chakra (it’s not at all), or even where you end and the universe begins. You don’t end there and neither does the universe. You are part of the universe like a petal on a lotus flower. Sahasrara means “thousand-petaled” and the symbol for this is the thousand-fold lotus. It serves to remind us of our connection to all creation. Without balance, you will lack empathy and feel depressed, lonely, and confused. You will feel disconnected, “weird” and out of place. When this chakra is brought to balance, you have no more need for these worries. Whether you have found your path in life or are still looking, you know you will arrive at your destination. Your sense of oneness gives you the desire to help others.
Affirmations
The motto here is “I understand.” It is an understanding of the bigger picture. Affirmations for the Crown Chakra focus on universal guidance.
Examples: “I go beyond limiting beliefs and accept myself totally.” “I am complete and one with the divine energy.” “I am a being of light and love. I am divinely guided and inspired. I am at one with the universe. I live my life through my higher self. I am enlightened.”
Questions
These questions aren’t meant to have simple answers. Each one may require several minutes to hours to fully consider. You may need to close your eyes to explore and experience the answers.
Choose three words that best describe you. Now picture yourself in the center of a line where those to one side are increasingly more defined by that adjective than you, and the people to the other side have this quality in decreasing amount the further away they are. Imagine the people as far away from you as you can in either direction and think about a day in their lives.
Do you believe in karma? If not, why? If so, how does this belief influence your daily life?
Visualize your higher power (whatever in your belief system you feel is responsible for creation). What purpose does this higher power have for humanity?
One by one, think about a sense and what life would be like without it? What colors would be like to the blind. What chocolate would be like to someone who can’t taste. What a hug would feel like to someone who can’t feel. So on. Now try to imagine having no senses at all, yet still somehow being aware that you exist.
Imagine every person who has ever existed or ever will is actually you living out another lifetime. Their beliefs and personalities are different because they’ve had entirely different experiences in the world and within themselves. How does this make you feel about your friends? How does this make you feel about the challenging people in your life?
