Pantone Color of the Year 2015

Looking through previous years, I see a rainbow of bright colors. While they are lovely colors, they just aren’t for everyone. I got my own taste of 2014’s Radiant Orchid, but it seems more suited as an accent color for me. Tangerines, bright aquas, yellows are all bold and gorgeous, but you have to admit, they require a certain skin tone to pull off.
This year, we got a lovely neutral. The 2015 Pantone color is Marsala, a muted wine hue that plays equally well with bronze or smokey blue. You won’t have to search high and low to find makeup in this shade either, since it’s a standard lip shade. It’s a very mature, professional, classic color choice with plenty of room to play. It can be elegant and feminine with lavenders, spicy and romantic with deep oranges, comfy and casual with taupe, or fierce and edgy with dark golds.
Marsala is definitely a hue I’ll like to take for a picnic by the lake and relax with a good book. What do you think of 2015’s Pantone pick?
