Back to the fun stuff!

This week, I got an early look at my ipsy bag. This month, I will be receiving:
– Be A Bombshell Eye Base in color Submissive.
– J. Cat Beauty Wonder Lip Paint in either Mad Splatter or Red Potion
– Marc Anthony Oil of Morocco Argan Oil Volume Shine Hairspray
– Starlooks Gem Eye Pencil in either Ultra Olive or Ultra Orchid
– TEMPTU S/B Highlighter in Pink Pearl

I’m pretty happy with this lineup, because it will give me a chance to use some things I wouldn’t normally purchase. Also, for $10 this is a really good deal.

Here’s a breakdown of the items:
Be A Bombshell Eye Base

The sample size of this is 0.9 oz compared to the 1.6 oz full size which costs $14. Dirty math, this sample is worth about $8 ($7.88, but I’m sure you pay for packaging). The color Submissive is described as “intense creamy bronse with gold shimmer.” I feel like this might be a little warm for me, but on the other hand, it might look really awesome with my grey eyes. I won’t know until I try, because I haven’t found any swatches of this color.

J. Cat Beauty Wonder Lip Paint

Whoa, lady! This stuff is serious business. D’Anna at Nouveau Cheap swatched several of the Alice in Wonderland-inspired colors. Those colors! I may have some trouble selling this color at home, because my boyfriend dislikes red lipstick and I feel like it makes me look older. This sample is .33oz which is actually the full size. It’s priced at $4.99 from the J. Cat Beauty site. Look, we’ve already tipped the value mark for this bag, AND didn’t even have to pay shipping.

Marc Anthony Oil of Morocco Argan Oil Volume Shine Hairspray
That’s a mouthful. I don’t do much with my hair right now. It’s in that awkward middle stage of growing out. This 1.5oz can is the travel size, listed at $2.99.

Starlooks Gem Eye Pencil
I have no idea what to expect with this one. I’ve seen other bags in the past that included eye pencils, and they were the full pencil, but the list price on this is $13.99. I can’t imagine having one item that is worth more than the entire subscription, but if this is true…wow! Ultra Olive was featured in The Beauty Mantra as part of the September 2014 Violet Box Review. I’m hearing great things about the quality of this pencil, and I’m pretty excited to try it, whether I get the olive or the orchid.

TEMPTU S/B Highlighter
Last, but definitely not least, the highlighter. A full-size bottle goes for $27.50, but this 0.1oz sample is still valued at $2.75. It’s interesting I should be offered this product, because I’ve been thinking of adding a highlighter to my collection. The sample size should be just enough to help me decide.
