Third Eye Chakra

The Third Eye is of special interest to me, because it deals, in no small part, with dreams and sleep.  Check out sister blog Dreamer, Awaken to read about dreams, sleep disorders and even the physical effects and triggers of sleep.  Also, if you’re joining me for the first time, be sure to check out the rest of the Chakra series.

Third Eye Chakra

Ajna, the Third Eye Chakra, is located between the eyebrows. The motto for this chakra is “I see.” It refers to both physical and intuitive vision. For people who struggle with spiritual concepts, consider this kind of sight as learning and anticipating patterns in the world around you. If the hummingbirds always arrive on the same day each year, you don’t have to be psychic to know when to expect them. Our subconscious guides us toward these instincts in more subtle ways that we may not even realize. To strengthen this chakra, build trust in your intuition, work toward a higher level of visualization and concentration, and take the time to consider situations from perspectives outside your own. A weak Third Eye will find it difficult to focus, be remorseful about the past or uncertain about the future, and have trouble making decisions. On the other hand, if it is too strong, you might be the type to think you are always right, assume that everything is portentous, meaningful or supernatural, or spend so much time daydreaming that it interferes with actual living. The goal is to become comfortable with the choices you make, open to accept your gut feeling, powerful in abstract thought, and experience a profound empathy toward many forms of life.

Affirmations

These affirmations focus on spiritual vision, accepting the guidance our intuition gives, and understanding that your reality is subjective.
Examples: “My spiritual vision is clear. I always follow and honor my intuition. I see divine light in everybody. I look at low energy situations from my higher self before I choose how I react. I am spiritually awake.” “My mind is open to new vision. I expand my awareness through my higher self.” “I acknowledge I am the source in creating my life the way I would like it to be.”

Questions

Though you may choose to write these down, it may be best for your mental strength to concentrate and answer in your mind.
Do you trust your instincts in most situations?
Have you ever experienced deja vu?
Have you ever realized you were dreaming without waking up? Describe what happened next.
What time of day are you most mentally alert?
Do you sleep well? If not, what can you do to change this?
Do you have a recurring nightmare?
Describe a time when you’ve made decisions based on a dream you’ve had.

Activities

Remote viewing

Blue/purple vegetables and fruits contain antioxidants which protect brain and nervous system health. Blackberries, figs, prunes and prune juice, plums, grapes and grape juice, eggplant, beets, radishes, and purple potatoes are all wonderful choices. This is an excellent time to indulge in dark chocolates, red wine, lavender spiced teas, or even coffee.

The set I’ve put together for the Third Eye is focused on comfort and flowing elegance.  You don’t want anything too physically binding while you’re honing your mental abilities.  The ring serves as a reminder to keep your eyes open, because your subconscious is always at work, building a story about the world around you.
